Wolfmother Led Zep tribute, and rocking Brixton
November 16, 2006 by chimaera
On Tuesday night this week, Wolfmother played their tribute to legendary rockers Led Zeppelin, recognising their recent entry into the UK Hall of Fame.
As part of the set, they played the Led Zep classic, Communication Breakdown.
I think it’s a fantastic illustration of Wolfmother’s growing status in the music world that they were asked to do this. Nice one guys.
Wolfmother also played Brixton, London last night as part of the MTV2 Spanking New Music Tour. With The Maccabees, Fields, Forward Russia! playing before them, it was a fantastic night (yes, I was there!).
The band played the usual favourites, with Woman going down particularly well with the enthusiastic crowd.
The set ended with Myles starting to destory his drum kit, which prompted Andrew to get in on the action, battering the bass drum with one of this many guitars. Looked like he had a lot of fun!
I was then lucky enough to attend the after show party, and got to chat with Andrew briefly before he left. You can read my full account of the night in the Wolfmother Forums.
