Rolling Stone recognises Wolfmother’s 2006 achievements

December 15, 2006 by

Rolling StoneRolling Stone has published its list of what it considers to be the Top 50 Albums of 2006, and the 100 Best Songs of 2006. Wolfmother feature in both!

The band’s rocking single Dimension comes in at #9 on the singles list, which was topped by the gets-stuck-in-your-head song Crazy – Gnarles Barkley. Here’s what Rolling Stone said about Dimension:

Aussie guys dig out their big brothers’ worn vinyl copy of Master of Reality and let the brain-bludgeon guitars off the chain.

And the self-titled debut album, Wolfmother comes in at #15 in the albums list, topped by the legendary Bob Dylan’s Modern Times.

This wild-haired Australian trio flattened crowds all year with organ solos, ‘nad-crushingly tight pants and riffs heisted from Zep, Sabbath and the Purp. Andrew Stockdale brings the Ozzy-Plant screech, the lyrics are true metal poetry, and when “Joker and the Thief” hits its power-drive climax, there isn’t a bat in the room with its head still attached.

I love their album. There aren’t too many that you can listen to all the way through, but the fastforward button doesnt even exist with this one!

this album rocks and i have formulated a simple plan in the case of an emergency where some one says otherwise that naysayer shoul
    1.) OPEN MOUTH
    3.) SHUT THE F*** UP
4.) (Someone should aid with this part) BE KICKED IN THE BALLZ (unless the naysayer is a womanthen part 4 should be another person engaging in an exchange of verbal profanities and insults)
wow part 4 is a doozy
    wolfmother is the bomb
