Wolfmother II ??

The band finally finished their mammoth tour last weekend with the Live Earth gig. I am sure they are taking a well earned rest before heading to the studio to record their second album.
There is currently a lot of discussion on the wolfmother forums and elsewhere on the ‘net about the name of the next album. Lots of backing for or arguments against Wolfmother II. Someone has even started a Wikipedia article, though by Wikipedia’s very nature I really don’t think that the article, without any sources, can be relied upon.
So what would you think if they called it Wolfmother II? Good idea? Bad idea? What would you call it instead?
Have they set a date on the release of their second album??
No, as far as I know they haven’t yet set a firm date but it is expected to be either later this year or early next.

I think they could call it wolfmoter ……. and something else after that.. maybe name of a song.. or something..
you get Wikipedia articles that are started for future albums like that all the time, probably 75% get deleted. I cleaned it up though and trimmed it next to nothing instead of marking it for deletion ’cause there is a source way back from March on Billboard.com:

and “Wolfmother II” as the working title? Don;t go by the Wikipedia article, go by how much you think they are influenced by Led Zeppelin, and whether you think they could be trashed as a rip-off band if they did call it that.
i think it would be kinda cool Wolfmother II as a tribute….and in my op pinion Led Zeppelin II had some of the best guitaring Led Zeppelin has ever done, so if its similar i will be a happy camper :D
The first album was sic & im hoping that the 2nd will live up to it, but if it gets a name like wolfmother II itll be off to a pretty bad start- there’s gotta be something more original. cant wait till the release!
i reckon Wolfmother vol 2 or Wolfmother chapter 2 would be a good album name for their next album
Wolfmothers sound is nostalgic of the late 60s early 70s rock scene and there have been many comparisons to Led Zeppelin and a bit of that criticism has been negative. Calling the album Wolfmother II would just further the negative comments about the band trying to be Led Zeppelin. And with Zeppelin II being one of the most legendary and revered albums of all time it would be inappropriate to be compared with the wolfies. Personally i dont care as long as it rocks hard.
look at van halen with Van Halen II it was a big hit why should they not call it Wolfmother II but its totally up to them to figure but it could be based on fan decision, like a poll or something
I think it’s a great idea to call it Wolfmother II. it pays respect to previous great bands like Queen and Led Zeppelin, both of which’s sophomore albums were Queen II and Led Zeppelin II, respectively.
i think the title “wolfmother II” is pretty cool. but i also would think that with their creative lyrical style that they could easily come up with a more inventive title.

I think it should either be called Wolfmother II or Wolfmother : Earth’s Rotation pending if the song is put on the album.

I don’t care what the album is called as long as it rocks! And I think we all know that it will! I can’t wait to hear the new album!!! I would like to get some more info. on this new guitar player rumor though. It should be interesting to see how that turns out.
They could call it “Dog Crap on Cheap Plastic”, and as long as it rocks people will buy it and love it. I’m guessing it will rock.
Wolfmother II would be a bad idea, thats just copying Led Zeppelin.
Wolfmother II is not the kind of name if I had a 2nd album. Something like The Second Edition or Part 2 is a good name, II just looks toweird.
personally i think it doesn’t quite matter what its called or what people think about the title, what matters is the songs and if they are as good as the first album then i will be one happy mofo! But i do agree that calling it “WOLFMOTHER II” might bring on more negative criticism, but let them, so what, they’re great, and i don’t care what lame as critics bitch about, half of them never having even held a guitar…

I would love it to be called Wolfmother II!!! How old school, classic rock would you get? It would probably only bring more comparisons to Led Zepplin, but last time I checked, Led Zepplin re-invented Rock; just like Wolfmother is doing for todays rock. Like eternally-a-wolfie said, Bring it on! As far as I’m concerned, REAL rock’s been on ice for about 40 years. Wolfmother is not only thawing it out, they’re frickin’ burnin’ it up like real rockers should!

WOLFMOTHER SHOULD TITLE THERE ALBUM SOMETHING A LITTLE BETTER THAN WOLFMOTHER II. I WAS THINKING A CONTROVERSIAL TITLE FOR SOME MUCH NEEDED PUBLICITY.
OR WOLFMOTHER COULD COME OUT WITH THIER OWN VERSION OF A WHITE/BLACK ALBUM TO PUT THIS ARGUMENT TO REST. EITHER WAY I WILL STILL BUY THE NEW ALBUM.
I reckon it’s a brilliant idea! I gueess they’ve had a lot of influence from Led Zeppelin, and i think that’s great. It pays great respect to them. I love Led Zeppelin. I don’t care what critics say about Wolfmother trying to ‘copy’ off them. Wolfmother’s music is still original in my opinion, more original than a lot of music around these days… keep it up.
To be truly honest, i don’t mind what they call it, it doesn’t change their music, i would love it if it was called the stupidest thing on earth. As long as they can put up with all the crap they’ll get from some people who dont like them calling it Wolfmother II.

Even if they don’t call it Wolfmother II it’ll probably be referred to as that as a pet name. I really don’t know why people care if they seem like they’re similar to Led Zeppelin, ’cause you know what? They’re frikin’ awesome, and if they want to follow in the footsteps of Led Zeppelin, godspeed.
