ARIA award nominations & roundup

October 7, 2007 by

Well it’s been a while since I posted news for a couple of reasons.  One is that the band is primarily in the studio so there’s not a whole lot going on, but I’ve also been busy with life and work recently.  So here’s the lowdown on recent happenings:

  1. Top of the newsworthy things to happen recently is the announcement that Wolfmother have been nominated for two ARIA awards this year, for best group and best single for Joker & The Thief.  Last year the band took home three awards so good luck to the boys again this year!  Shaking up the ceremony this year are dance act Sneaky Sound System with six nominations – against the gain of the usually rock dominated ARIAs.
  2. Wolfmother’s Joker & The Theif was featured in the recent movie Shoot ‘Em Up.  I didn’t realise until I was at the cinema watching the film!  Here’s a full list of movies that the band’s tracks have featured in (courtesy IMDB, link found by Justin)
