Pain relief

March 25, 2009 by

So I’ve been thinking a lot recently about the neglect I show this site. It’s the one and only (reputable) Wolfmother fan site, who I love and admire, and yet I barely find the time to keep it updated. Classic example, Clipsal, the first official Wolfmother full gig in forever, and what have I said about it? Naff all!

After berating myself for being lazy, having too much else going on in my head, wondering if I should just sell the site to someone who would do a better job … I realised the issue. Those damned thumbnails on the old homepage design were a pain point that prevented me from taking the time to type a message. I type fairly fast so it’s not that part – it was simply finding the pictures, resizing and cropping them to the appropriate size, uploading them to the site, adding the links to the WordPress fields to update them … all probably adding 20 minutes per post. Which probably sounds ridiculous, but was enough to make me put it off. And I am the world’s worst procrastinator.

So instead, I have changed the site format to display like a normal blog. It might not be as pretty, it doesn’t have the sexy thumbnail images, the pictures, the video … but I guarantee that it’s a shit load easier to update. This post took me about 3 minutes to write – and if I want to add an image, I just do so easily and quickly.

So the rambling aside, please let me know what you think of this layout and whether you’d rather have more regular updates. I in turn promise to try and make more time to post updates as and when I get them.

    Woot First.
yea that sounds alot easier, regular updates are more important than prettiness.
I think I speak for a lot of people when i say that I just want a place to read about this amazing band that has been so dormant that this site is one of the only places keeping the Wolfmother ember of hope glowing if only dimly.
    thanks for the site bro.

    just wondering,
if the forums went to someone else would it be a dedicated mod or what

yeah, theres a few videos on youtube. when you search for them though, you have to be specific. Searching “Wolfmother Clipsal” doesnt work. You have to do “Wolfmother Clipsal 500”. They looked pretty sweet.

Theres a new song they have though, and I’m not really quite sure what to think of it. It sounds like that really bad “heavy alternative rock” stuff you hear on the radio.

Oh, I think this layout is fine btw.

Thanks for keeping this site up, this is where I get most of my information, and it has been pretty reliable for me.

I think this layout is fine. If it means less time for you and more updates for us, then great!

As long as there are regular updates, who cares about the layout?
Glad to see Andrew’s participating in Earth Hour. I’m definetly looking forward to it. :D

Always prioritise updates over a good-looking site. Always.

No update on the official site — still; Stockdale etc. haven’t even confirmed the band make-up yet themselves.

I dunno. John Hurt had his moments of greatness – more so than HDS for sure. Ian Holm was always a good bet for a standby cock-er-ny.As for it being a ‘B’ movie, I think I quite like the idea. It was quite dark and grainy and the way everything looked sleazy was almost half contrived, half natural. No, the set, not Ms Weaver.Oh, and yeah – I await Prometheus with breath more bated yet than that of James. The teaser with Guy Pearce was very much colei canis.

fuck it, just because you dont like us dosnt mean we care. its pretty obvious the chinese are behind the coup belive this needs to pay a quick simple visit to rarotonga and see the brand new police and courts buildings amongst the run down island and youll see that they love interfering with the pacific rim
