Double Album?! Andrew on Twitter

April 13, 2009 by

After originally believing that this must be a fake, it appears that this Twitter account really is Mr Andrew Stockdale. The link was delivered via a MySpace bulletin as below:

Which is cool – after thinking Twitter was a load of crap for a long time, I finally gave it another go recently and am starting to see what the hype is about. But read the posts:

Tracked the 14th song “The Violence Of The Sun” original Fender Rhodes version. A Chaotic, cathartic, distorted, distracted proud mess.

Yes, that does say “double album” and “tracked the 14th song”!!

I hope the Twitter “experiment” continues, it would be a very cool way to get updates straight from “the horses mouth”. As long as he doesn’t start getting his PA to write his posts up

  4. anonymous on April 13th, 2009 6:15 pm

It’s one album with two discs….. 14 total songs. similar to Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti

  5. brandan on April 13th, 2009 6:29 pm

ooh i see how it is.. so i guess the songs are longer right?

  6. anonymous on April 13th, 2009 9:25 pm

exactly, or there are more than just 14. but in any event, the time would be close to too long for one CD, so it is easier to make 2 discs

I was wishing for this the second I heard they had 17 tracks. Can’t complain about 14! Thats why this band kicks amazing ass.

14 is just the highest number we have been told there is so far; there could well be more, and for some reason I wouldn’t see “The Violence of the Sun” being the last track — they have been playing it for a few years now. Get on colossal double album — White Feather.

according to twitter, they are up to 18 recorded songs

the days of epic double albums are still alive….this is probably the best news ive heard since after hearing the last notes of vagabond back in 05’…and wondering when the story would continue, Roll on Sept.

  13. Andre on April 16th, 2009 12:33 pm

Brandan, they have already played at the MTV Australia Awards; I think this Friday is the day it is being broadcast in a bunch of countries — check the Wolfmother MySpace blog.

If you go to wolfmother on wikipedia it gives you a link in the references, i think no. 30., to NME and it is an article on the new wolfmother and says the new album will be called Cosmic Egg.
