A Sound Relief for those who missed out on the event!
July 28, 2009
On March 14, in response to the tragic misfortune of the February 2009 Victorian Bushfires, Sound Relief took place in Melbourne and Sydney simultaneously, with artists and bands such as Kings of Leon, Paul Kelly, Hunters & Collectors, Midnight Oil, Coldplay, Jet and of course Wolfmother performed in either city.
Over $8 million was raised by the Sound Relief concerts, with the funds going to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal ($7,159,760) and The Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal ($874,416).
But for those who missed tickets to Sound Relief, don’t fret because on October 2nd a 4-disc DVD compilation will be released with proceeds going to Red Cross.
Not much is known about the content of the DVDs as of yet other than every artist who performed in either city will be included on the disc, furthermore Sound Relief organiser Michael Gudinski has had this to say about the release “Some acts have their whole set on there, some just a few songs, but it’s all music. We didn’t want to clutter it up with interviews.”
Let’s just hope the entire Wolfmother set is included!

‘Back Round’ Music Video!
July 26, 2009
After releasing it as a free download twice, Wolfmother have officially made a video for Back Round!
On Andrew Stockdale’s Twitter Page, two tweets were made, each showing a caption from the video. The two pictures below show Andrew with a flare creating smoke and Andrew again, playing the guitar (possibly during the guitar solo). Both are showing a rather dramatic effect for the Back Round video.

The two pictures above show a promising and hopeful beginning for the new Wolfmother, definitely reflecting the hyper and hard hitting sound that Back Round brings. A clip is due for release shortly, followed by hopefully a full music video. I will update this post as soon as the clip and/or video is released!
Twittertastic
July 25, 2009
I’ve personally had a Twitter account for some time now (though I admit that I’m not a huge user). I figured it was time for this site to come into the Twitter age and get a few updates:
- Easy ‘retweet’ links added to each post
- A wolfmother.net Twitter account which will have updates from this site but also breaking news about Wolfmother
Added a sidebar flash widget that displays the latest updates. Likely to be updated before this site is so keep a close eye on it!Flash widget was too much of a pain in the arse – added a widget to show posts from @wolfmothernet, @positron76 (Andrew), or any post that mentions Wolfmother. Hope it works better!
