A “Killer” Tour!
July 18, 2009

Just a short day after The Wolfies fansite went online, Wolfmother announced tour dates with the wonderful Killers.
Initially announced on Andrews twitter account, it also added to their main website. There will be 6 dates in total, 4 of which are in the US and the remaining 2 are in Canada. The dates are as follows:
31st August 2009 – Merriweather Post Pavilion Columbia, Maryland
1st September 2009 – Nikon at Jones Beach Amphitheatre Wantagh, New York
2nd September 2009 – PNC Bank Arts Centre Holmdel, New Jersey
4th September 2009 – TD Banknorth Garden Boston, Massachusetts
5th September 2009 – Quai Jacques Cartier Montreal, Quebec
6th September 2009 – Molson Amphitheatre Toronto, Ontarlo
If you leave remotely near any of those venues, definitely go and get a ticket, it looks to be a very awesome event and as a very big Killers fan myself, you can imagine the jealousy that is currently flowing through my body.
Also a heads up, there will be a tour in the UK before 2009 is out! Andrew has yet again confirmed/promised that on his twitter page so this is wonderful for all the British fans!
[update]The Wolfmother Tour dates page is updated, and improved!
The Wolfies
July 18, 2009
I’m a firm believer in healthy competition, and it looks like this here site – or at least those there forums – will have some shortly.
Wolfmother recently announced that they are launching a fan club, called The Wolfies – a term we have been using here and in the forums for years now to refer to the band’s fans. http://www.thewolfiesonline.com
At the moment, membership is restricted to those who buy a concert ticket. Which seems a bit daft to me because that’s instantly limiting membership to those areas the band is touring, ie Australia and a couple of parts of the US. Why not just charge a small fee to get in? I’m sure a few dozen forum members would happily pay a few bucks. Then again, they probably want to limit membership during the “trial” stage before rolling out to everyone.
It’ll be interesting to see how things turn out, particularly with the “members only forums”. Our forums just passed a thousand members, so they’ve got a bit of catching up to do =0)
Some of the other benefits though sound awesome, such as pre-sale tickets and ‘hanging out with the band. I’ll certainly be joining when the opportunity arises.
