Cosmic Egg box set: January 2010?
December 29, 2009
As previously reported by the site, Wolfmother will be releasing a special edition box set of their sophomore album Cosmic Egg sometime next year. Forum member JasonA has found a link which suggests that the release date will be 20 January 2010, placing it almost a month before the release of the “White Feather” single and somewhere in the middle of the European leg of their New Moon Rising World Tour, the day before the concert at Brixton Academy in London, England.
According to the link, the box set will include double vinyl, CD and mp3 editions of the album, as well as a book (presumably of artwork and/or possibly interviews or words from Andrew/the band)! More news as it comes!
Mr Tambourine Wolfmother-man, play us two gigs
December 16, 2009

Wolfmother are playing two intimate gigs on the 22nd and 3rd of Dec, but they’re very special gigs, that I think the only way to describe is by adapting an old Christmas tale…
It was the lead up to Christmas, when all through Byron Bay
Not a person stirred, not even the drunk and gay
Wolfmother on stage, acoustic guitars to be seen
They play two intimate gigs, with you playing the tambourine!
I think that’s the perfect way to sum up this news post! Except one night is going to be acoustic and the other is going to be an electric show, but bring your tambourine’s to both!

White Feather artwork revealed
December 13, 2009
The cover for upcoming single “White Feather”, currently slated for a 1 February 2010 release, has popped up on the internet. On the Wikipedia article for the song, which appears as the third track on Cosmic Egg, somebody has uploaded a low-resolution version of the cover, which depicts a luscious field complete with trees, a stream and unidentifiable people standing around, in a similar vein to the covers for “New Moon Rising” and the album itself.
At the time of writing, the cover is not readily available anywhere else, and the origin and legitimacy of the pictured cover can be questioned; it does, however, look legit, and I’m sure confirmation will come within the next few weeks. The first two ‘singles’ (only released as digital downloads, for the most part) from Cosmic Egg, “Back Round” and “New Moon Rising”, reached #100 and #50 in Australia respectively, and so if the pattern is to continue then “White Feather” should be set to reach #1! That’s an extremely bold hope, but what position do you think it will reach/should reach? Is “White Feather” a good choice for a single? Is it even a good song? Pop over to the forums and discuss!
General update: According to Last.fm, the single will be released on 21 December 2009, and will contain five remixes of the title track.
