Finally! Wolfmother Break Silence!

November 5, 2012 by

After months and months of… nothing, Wolfmother have finally broken the silence and announced a brand new show — their first since August 2nd.

Having spent most of the latter half of the year recording their third album (their first with the current lineup), the Australian five-piece led by Andrew Stockdale will return to the limelight with a show at the Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane on New Year’s Eve 2012. The gig is the group’s first Australian appearance since their performance at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne back in August, and the first since the presumed completion of their brand new (as-yet untitled) album.

Wolfmother — which is now comprised of Stockdale, Ian Peres, Elliott Hammond, Vin Steele, and Hamish Rosser — have provided fans with very few updates regarding their new record, with their official website simply reading “Wolfmother is back in the studio… stay tuned for gig updates” for the last few months. The Brisbane show will, of course, be their last of the current year, before their new album is scheduled to hit stores early next year.

Tickets for the December 31st show at the Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane are on sale now, available from the Eatons Hill website and ticket site OzTix.

I happen to know for a fact that they have not been working on the album this entire time. barely at all.

    how you know that? tell!

Ross how in the world would you know that i know nothing? quite the contrary. As a dear close lifelong friend to a bandmate I happen to know for a fact that the band has been idle for the past 6 months. maybe once in a while they meet up to work on something but they are no in the studio working on getting this album out. they worked it the most with the old lineup and are trying to get that produced.

you have to understand ross that the 6 teenagers who sit around here and talk about WM dont actually know anything about the happenings of the band. This band has friends and ex girlfriends and neighbors and friends of record companies. We know shit and sometimes we share it here.

Sonita, sorry I did not get in there quickly, but I have seen the comment and now removed it. Thanks for joining in the discussion on this article, and the things you’re saying are very interesting indeed.

sorry but a simple fly by statement like “i know for a fact that they’ve been doing nothing” and end it there with no info to back it up…not helping. and i assume your just screwing around, my last comment was trying to provoke you to to say more wether you had info to back up your comment or not. i’ve seen you post similar pesemistic one line comments on here before.

and i just realized that if true, you gave up a juicy bit of info, about them getting the old lineup album produced, so thanks for that,.. but i’ll believe it when i see it. so what went wrong? when andrew announced back in april the new album would be re-recorded under the new lineup. didn’t work out? just using what they had? all this time, 7 friggin months trying to get an album recorded last year produced??

This argument is done. Anymore antagonising comments will be deleted. Please just talk about the news story.

yay! new years show! the truth is i dont really care what they are up to man! the music biz is crazy and andrew being who he is makes it crazy. no matter what i tend to get negative but on the inside we all love the music and look forward to what’s next.

p.s i may be friends with a member but the truth is nobody every really knows whats going on. i may say one thing and i may be wrong but i say it anyway which can be silly because you cant predict the minds of madness. you cant always control the flow of creativity and we all know AS is unpredictable. nobody REALLY knows anything except him and his diary.
