According to The Music Network, multi-instrumentalist Elliott Hammond (pictured second from left) has become the latest member to depart from Wolfmother, just a month after drummer Hamish Rosser left, reportedly due to scheduling conflicts with his own band The Delta Riggs.
The departure of Hammond — who performed keyboards, drums, percussion, and harmonica on Andrew Stockdale’s recent solo album Keep Moving — leaves Wolfmother as a four-piece group, with long-time bassist and keyboardist Ian Peres, rhythm guitarist Vin Steele, and new drummer Tony McCall completing the lineup of Stockdale’s band. McCall has previously performed with Cosmic Egg drummer Dave Atkins’s band Resin Dogs, and has also performed with Peres in the past.
Despite only joining the band in early 2012, after the departure of drummer Will Rockwell-Scott and Cosmic Egg rhythm guitarist Aidan Nemeth, Hammond quickly became an important part of the recent Stockdale/Wolfmother sound, primarily for his introduction of the harmonica, the addition of which Stockdale praised in recent interviews.

That, my friends, is a confused man – a representation of everyone here at Wolfmother.net right now.
So after everything that’s happened over the last six months – Andrew Stockdale going solo, the new album, tour dates – it seems we’re back to the start. It has been announced on the Wolfmother Facebook and Twitter pages that ‘the band’ is returning to play in the United States next week.
After a number of US tour dates were cancelled, with rumours flying that Stockdale was unable to sell enough tickets, it has been confirmed that Wolfmother will be playing a show at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California next Monday (July 15th). Tickets will be available from the venue’s official website from tomorrow, and as always Wolfmother.net will keep you up to date with any more revelations in the Wolfmother/Stockdale camp!
