First up, some news from Wolfmother.net, the original Wolfmother fan site: we have a brand new biography of Wolfmother live on the site! I have been working on this for a while now, and it covers everything from the band’s formation to the present day, New Crown and all, making a great one-stop shop for anyone wanting to find out about Wolfmother. Check it out here, and let us know if you see any oddities or if you just want to share your love for us by emailing email@example.com. Enjoy, and share with your friends!
Secondly, there is some big show news coming from the Wolfmother camp soon! Andrew Stockdale himself has given us the heads up, but we’re going to hold off confirming what this is just yet, you know, just in case. For now, all we will say is that if you live in the UK, you should be ready to rock in the first or second week of July… so get ready! The news is likely to leak very soon, so as soon as that happens we will confirm what we know.
Edit literally seconds after posting…
Okay, screw it – a bunch of people already know this is happening, and Andrew was happy for us to share the Wolfmother element of the news now, so…
Wolfmother will be supporting Black Sabbath at this year’s British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park, London! The Sabbath news has been hinted at and rumoured over the last few days, and is set to be confirmed tomorrow anyway, but Andrew has also revealed that Wolfmother will be performing at the event as well. The specific date is not confirmed yet, but once it is be sure to get your ticket fast!

Following on from our recent rumour article, Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale has confirmed that new album New Crown will indeed be seeing a physical release following its debut on Bandcamp and, more recently, iTunes.
With his newest record making its way up the iTunes album charts, Stockdale revealed – in a comment on one of his Instagram posts – that New Crown will be released as a CD on Monday (March 31st) and as a vinyl “soon”.
Upon initial search, no online music outlets appear to have the CD version of the album for sale yet, although we will update you with details as and when they become available. You can see Stockdale’s comment below.

Hot on the heels of their brand new album New Crown, Wolfmother have released the first music video from the record, for the song ‘Heavy Weight’. This marks the first video since 2010’s ‘Far Away’, not counting 2013’s ‘Long Way to Go’, which was credited to Andrew Stockdale.
Published on the band’s official YouTube channel earlier today (March 25th), ‘Heavy Weight’ is a homebrew-style video showing the band goofing around in a van, a coffee shop, and at the side of the road. The physical edition of the album also makes a sneaky cameo appearance.

After its release through Bandcamp at the weekend, a physical edition of Wolfmother’s new album New Crown may be on its way in the near future.
Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale today shared a photo on his Instagram account of the back cover of a shrink-wrapped CD copy of the album. The words “Promotional use only – not for sale” at the bottom of the cover denote this is a radio copy or other promo, but this may be a tease by Stockdale that a hard copy is coming.
Also notable is that the track listing on the CD is different from that included with the download of the album – only the original 8 demos are present, meaning ‘Feelings’, ‘”I Ain’t Got No”‘, and final track ‘I Don’t Know Why’ are absent; ‘My Tangerine Dream’ also drops the ‘My’ from its name.
Do you think a physical release of New Crown is coming, or that this is just a tease? Leave a comment below!

Following on from the band’s first ever shows in India this past week, the setlist for Wolfmother’s performance at the Mumbai Hard Rock Café has surfaced on setlist.fm.
As with almost all of the band’s setlists for the past few years, the show opened with ‘Dimension’ and closed with ‘Joker & the Thief’, both from debut album Wolfmother. Material from the 2005 self-titled effort comprised the majority of the setlist, with the rest made up of two songs from Cosmic Egg, one from Andrew Stockdale’s Keep Moving, and two as-yet unreleased tracks.
The set is almost exactly the same as those performed since the band reunited, but for the exclusion of new track ‘Heavy Weight’, and presumably the same as the other two shows in India.
Check out the full setlist below (new tracks in bold):
- New Moon Rising
- White Unicorn
- Apple Tree
- California Queen
- Mind’s Eye
- How Many Times
- Love Train
- Long Way to Go
- New Crown
- Joker & the Thief

On the back of their successful “Tropics Tour” which saw the band visit venues in Queensland through the first two weeks of February, Wolfmother have announced a number of shows over the next few months.
