British rock magazine Kerrang! is running a competition in which you have the chance to win the incredible spaceship-themed guitar featured in Wolfmother’s ‘Victorious’ music video released last month.
In their words, “All you have to do is head on over to Twitter, post a rad picture of yourself with a rockstar, some fancy artwork or anything band related with the #Kommunity hashtag” for the chance to win the unique instrument.

We have a little game for you to play… guess the release date of album three!
With the new lineup getting along well on tour, and new songs coming at us left, right and centre, we think Wolfmother’s follow-up to their second album Cosmic Egg isn’t too far away. So, with that in mind, and with anticipation reaching all-time highs, when do you think the mysterious third album is going to be released?
We started this question over on the Wolfmother.net Facebook page recently, and we’ve had a few guesses already, all in October 2012! Do you think this is accurate, a release in just three months? Or do you think we’ll have to wait until next year to hear some new Wolfie studio action? Let us know in the comments below, and the closest guess might just win a prize…*
*Note: there is no guarantee of a prize, but we’ll try our best!

Like many of you I expect, I hadn’t listened to Cosmic Egg for quite some time. And although all of the flaws that have been much discussed were again evident (I didn’t actually manage to finish listening to the entirety of some songs), I realised that it does have some real gems – at least in my opinion.
So my challenge to you is – name one song, lyric, rif, instrumental, melody or whatever else, from Wolfmother’s Cosmic Egg. I might even come up with a prize for the best suggestion (and “Cosmic Egg sucks” or “there’s nothing good about that album” will not be contenders).
Track 03 – White Feather – first 90 seconds or so.
It’s not your typical Wolfmother, but damn is it catchy. I can’t help but feel that if this were released, or if another big or upcoming band had put this out there, it could be huge. Part of the problem is that it loses its way a bit after the 90s mark, bringing it back at the end. I listened to the track twice this morning and it has been doing the rounds in my head ever since.

It’s been just over 2 weeks since the competition closed and thank you to all that entered!
We’ve been reading through the answers and thinking hard, we picked our favourites and there are a fair few that we loved! Ofcourse there can only be one. And the name of that person is.. Drum roll please…
Well done and check your email!
I would like to thank everyone again who took the time to enter and well, let’s say I have a fair few more competition up my sleeve so keep your eyes peeled.
For the moment, let’s look forward to the next wolfmother album!

Well, things are starting to pick up! The band are on an Australian tour, Dave’s back in the band, fellow members are meeting the band, and more importantly information on the new album is starting to surface. So, I thought I feel like giving someone some free stuff!
So I imagine you are wondering what on Earth I can offer you that’s going to get you interested… how about a Wolfmother goody bag? This will include a Wolfmother bag, a shirt, a hoody, stickers, buttons, a keyring, and (my favourite) a SIGNED COPY OF COSMIC EGG! Yes, a signed copy! All courtesy of Wolfmother themselves!
To win this exciting prize, all I want is for you to post what you would name the third album! The best ones will be selected by the moderation team, and then put into a hat and selected at random. Submit your answer as a comment below, and remember to leave your email address so we can contact you!
The competition will close dead on 2012, so 12 midnight January 1st, UK time.
Good luck, and all the best!

Back in 2006, I posted about a t-shirt created by Wolfmother, sold by The Yellow Bird Project, and all for a good cause.
Well, for a limited time, the t-shirt is available again! And, on sale! $15 buys you what is without doubt a unique tee. One for Wolfmother collectors I think.

Well if you are in LA, you have a chance! 75 lucky people will be chosen as extras for the shoot next weekend. Interestingly, you must be willing to have your clothing trashed and get dirty – sounds like it will be lots of fun!!
More details as posted on Facebook:
Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother and legendary guitarist Slash will be shooting a music video for the single “By The Sword” FRIDAY April 9th and SATURDAY April 10th in the Los Angeles area.
This video is being directed by Director/Cinematographer Vance Burberry.

Important: Extras must be willing to get dirty, in their own clothing, which will need to get trashed with help from our wardrobe department.
