Mr Tambourine Wolfmother-man, play us two gigs

December 16, 2009

tambourine-solo

Wolfmother are playing two intimate gigs on the 22nd and 3rd of Dec, but they’re very special gigs, that I think the only way to describe is by adapting an old Christmas tale…

It was the lead up to Christmas, when all through Byron Bay

Not a person stirred, not even the drunk and gay

Wolfmother on stage, acoustic guitars to be seen

They play two intimate gigs, with you playing the tambourine!

I think that’s the perfect way to sum up this news post! Except one night is going to be acoustic and the other is going to be an electric show, but bring your tambourine’s to both!

The Black Angels to support Wolfmother on European tour

December 2, 2009

uktourWolfmother are set to bring their “New Moon Rising World Tour” to the European fans from January 2010, with 16 shows in 10 countries! While it has not been officially confirmed by the band or their management, the support act for these dates is due to be an American band called The Black Angels.

While I myself have never heard of the band, here are some brief facts: formed in 2004 in Austin, Texas, the band plays “psychedelic surf rock” which, according to Rolling Stone, is akin to the musical stylings of The Velvet Underground and 13th Floor Elevators. Why not check out their MySpace page and have a listen to their tracks?

The tour dates are featured on various ticketing sites, as well as the band’s websites, so can be assumed to be official and confirmed. What are your thoughts? Head over to the forums to discuss!
