Initial UK Tour Dates Confirmed

Following on from the announcement of the first North American leg of the Keep Moving Tour, news has emerged today (June 13th) that the Andrew Stockdale band will be visiting the United Kingdom and Ireland later in the year for a string of shows.
Initially only five dates are confirmed (dates below), tickets for which are available from Ticketmaster, but more are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, including shows in mainland Europe. Australian Keep Moving Tour Dates Postponed
Earlier this week, Andrew Stockdale distributed a press release revealing that 13 of the 14 shows on the Australian leg of his Keep Moving Tour (all but Friday June 7th’s album launch at Sydney’s Metro Theatre) had been postponed. Making the announcement just a day before the first scheduled show, at the University of Newcastle’s Bar on the Hill on June 6th, Stockdale cited “international commitments” as the reason for the setback, but was quick to assure fans that all tour dates would be rescheduled. With Stockdale’s debut solo album Keep Moving having been released in the former Wolfmother frontman’s home country on Friday, it will now receive no local touring support until later in the year upon rescheduling.
International Keep Moving Tour Dates Added
Moving swiftly on from the bad news to the good news, it was recently announced that Stockdale and his band would be bringing the Keep Moving Tour to the United States in the coming months, with a month-long stint comprising 24 shows pencilled in for July and August. Full details of tour dates and tickets can be found on our tour page. No word yet on dates in Europe or elsewhere.
Keep Moving Released in Australia, Readied Worldwide
And finally, the day we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! Keep Moving, Andrew Stockdale’s debut solo album and his first since Wolfmother’s 2009 sophomore effort Cosmic Egg, was released in Australia (and certain regions of Europe) by Universal Music on Friday, June 7th.
Those of us in the UK and other European regions can acquire the album tomorrow (June 10th), Americans will have to wait until Tuesday (June 11th), and Japan will receive it on Wednesday (June 12th). The album is currently sitting at #57 on the Australian iTunes album chart.

Andrew Stockdale in the Market for New Drummer

Andrew Stockdale has revealed that former Wolfmother sticksman Hamish Rosser will not be performing on his upcoming solo tour this June, giving fans a unique opportunity to perform with the band by showing off their own drumming skills and joining the remaining four members in Australia.
Tweeting earlier today (May 11th), Stockdale cut straight to the point when he revealed “I’m looking for a drummer for the AS [Andrew Stockdale] OZ tour, anyone interested follow and send a DM”. In response to the question of Rosser’s omission, the frontman explained that “He’s out, I couldn’t afford his rate. AS tour is scaling down to smaller venues, I couldn’t pay the WM [Wolfmother] rates”. Rosser originally joined Wolfmother in early 2012 after leaving The Vines, and performed on three tracks on Stockdale’s upcoming album Keep Moving.
In order to be in with a chance of performing with Stockdale, Peres, Steele and Hammond this summer, all fans have to do is send the singer a few videos of their performances of Wolfmother songs ‘Woman’ and ‘Joker & the Thief’ and solo songs ‘Long Way to Go’ and ‘Keep Moving’, and commit to touring this June in Australia. Numerous followers have already expressed their interest on Twitter and Facebook.
Wolfmother’s original drummer was Myles Heskett, who formed the band with Stockdale and Chris Ross way back in 2000. Dave Atkins replaced him in 2008, although left himself due to other commitments two years later. The Mooney Suzuki drummer Will Rockwell-Scott joined in 2010, before leaving in 2012 for Rosser to fill the gap.
