I bought this album the day it came out and was counting down the days for it to come out. NEVER before have I done this except maybe for summer vacation or Christmas, so good job Wolfmother! Sadly though my first listen was a pretty large disappointment. It wasn't bad but it wasn't the great and wondrous sound of their first album. The guitar wasn't as rough sounding, the vocals weren't as crisp and the songs were just kind of lacking the fun sound of thee first, (not saying they didn't have fun making the album, just the way it sounds doesn't have a fun sound, if you smoke weed I'm sure the way it sounds is mind blowing but so was their 1st album when stoned so no gain there just a big fat loss). The only songs I liked were Pilgrim, Back Round, and the heavy parts of California Queen. And what makes me mad is the whole Deluxe and standard version. The deluxe has a lot of key songs, while the standard is like a slap in the face- Here you go we are offering you an incomplete album go have fun with that and be disappointed later when you hear about the songs you don't have like BACK ROUND. I'd give the deluxe album a 6 out of ten the standard a 5 of 10, with their first album a worthy 10/10.

I bought the album in late October 2010. People who say this alblum sucks have not heard the crap that has been pumping through the radio the past 10 years. If you dare to disect the alblum the first seven songs(not the bonus alblum) are golden. The last 2 not so golden. Still this alblum is the best alblum by far. As someone who started working for a major company like myself it was Wolfmothers Comic Egg that got me through the first year. And its Wolfmothers Comic Egg that is getting me through the second. Don't let some overpaid jackoff ever say this album sucks. Go buy Wolfmothers Comic egg and hear it for yourself. Then write to the over paid jackoff and tell him the second alblum is just as good (my option better) as the first.
